CHIEF FINANCE OFFICER-UGANDA
Background:
The International Medical Group comprises of three subsidiaries; International Hospital Kampala (IHK), International Medical Centers (IMC) and International Air Ambulance (IAA). IHK is the largest private health service provider; IMC has 10 medical centers across Uganda and one in South Sudan; and IAA is a health plan provider that gives its circa 45,000 members, access to the facilities of IHK and its clinics.
As we continue this rapid growth, we recognize the need to strengthen our financial functions at both Group level and at the subsidiary companies. Towards this end we seek to recruit a group CFO to create an effective group finance department and oversee the finance functions of the three different business units. The CFO will report to the CEO and will be based in Kampala, Uganda.
Responsibilities
Contribute to strategic planning and development through provision of advice and guidance on financial strategy;
Coordinate the preparation of budgets and financial reports and present to the Board;
Analyze and forecast critical financial performance indicators and convey these analyses to the CEO, the Board and Audit Committee, recommending corrective actions as necessary;
Develop, integrate and utilize all financial information and analysis of data to ensure effective spend and provide insight into the organizations operations; this will include the recommendations on improved cost effectiveness
Ensure compliance with local and national regulatory requirements;
Oversee the approval and processing of revenue, expenditure, budgets, salary updates, ledger, payroll, account maintenance and data entry, in conjunction with the HR department;
Foster and cultivate good relationships with clients, represent the company and act as principal contact
person for financial institutions and other agencies;
Manage the finance department effectively including the design, communication, and monitoring of KPI’s for the different business units and the staff, their training and development, motivation and discipline.
Requirements
A minimum of a Business degree majoring in Finance or Accounting from a recognized University with a professional accounting qualification such as CPA or ACCA;
Over 8 years experience in strategic financial planning and execution;
Knowledge of streamlining accounts and systems across countries as well as cost management;
Sound knowledge of financial management and accounting procedures;
Proven analytical skills to interpret or generate all types of financial data and financial; reports, statements,
and financial modeling and business plans;
Demonstrable leadership ability with excellent interpersonal skills
